What is a zine?
A zine is a fan-made, unofficial booklet that can contain art, stories or photos based around a series, theme or ship.
Pokédemia will be a BNHA/Pokémon crossover zine featuring fics, page art, comics, a reading journal & merch.
Is this zine for profit?
Yes, this zine will be for profit. Any funds will first go towards covering production and anything beyond that will be split evenly between the contributors and mod team.
Will this project be 18+ or allow minors?
Content in the zine will be SFW, but minors will not be accepted into the zine as a mod or contributor. If anyone is found to be lying about their age, they will be removed from the project immediately and banned from any future projects.
How will contributors be compensated?
We are hoping to provide full bundles for every contributor and any profits made beyond that be split amongst everyone evenly, however, this will depend on sales. Contributors can also elect to instead have the monetary value of the full bundle distributed to them.
What does it mean that you're a zine & stationery project?
We are aiming for most of our merch to be stationery focused, meaning things like stickers, sticker sheets, washi tape, pens/pencils, stamps, memo pads/sticky notes, customized papers, etc. We also hope to include a reading journal with customized pages & full-color spot art.
What are contributor requirements within the zine?:
Contributor requirements and application guidelines can be found here
Will you have Guest Contributors?
Yes! When the Interest Check opens on Feb. 27th, please be sure to tell us who you would like to see featured!
Will all applicants receive an email regardless of acceptance or rejection?
Yes, every applicant will receive an email response.
What content will be featured within the zine?
We are hoping to showcase My Hero Academia characters with Pokémon companions. Ideally, this would be a universe without quirks or canon Pokémon human characters (ex: Aizawa fighting as a pro hero with his zoroark, Misty & Brock have a Pokémon battle with Ochako and Tsu, BNHA characters turned into Pokémon, etc) however, we have included a question geared towards this on our Interest Check! If the general response is for something different, we are willing to change direction.
Can I use AI for my art/writing?
No. Any use of AI will get you immediately disqualified from applications, kicked from the zine, and blocked from the project. We do not support AI tech for art/writing in any way, shape or form.
How many contributors will you be accepting?
This will depend on Interest Check results!
Will you be opening moderator applications?
Nope. Our team is complete!
Will applicants be judged based on the content they create outside of the zine?
No. What you create and enjoy is your own business. The mod team is profic, and as long as you love both BNHA & Pokémon, you're welcome here. Our only real restriction is we do not wish to work with people who harass or bully others online for content they create or fictional things they enjoy. We would like to promote a positive & friendly environment within the project!
